Introduction
Personalization is the menu where App Languages, Visitor Types and Data Fields are configured.
Personalization is done at the Site level. To access the menu, login to VisitorOS | iLobby (goilobby.com), then click the Settings icon > Sites, and select the appropriate site.
Then, navigate to the Personalization tab.
Configuring App Languages
Languages are displayed on the Welcome screen of the iLobby application, allowing visitors to sign in using the selected language.
1. To select the App Languages that will be shown on the main screen of the device, click the button to open the menu.
2. In the pop-up window, you will see lists of languages.
- Click the checkbox to add or remove a language from the list.
- Click-and-drag the icon to re-arrange the order that the languages are displayed on the kiosk.
Finally, click to save your changes.
Configuring Visitor Types
Visitor Types allow you to add specific types of visitor categories. Each category can be configured to follow a unique logical flow with its own requirements for data collection.
To configure visitor types:
Click to open the configuration menu. Within the menu, you can take the following actions:
- Click to remove a Visitor Type from the sign-in options for that site.
- Click-and-drag to change the order in which the visitor types are displayed on the kiosk.
- Click to include or exclude a visitor type from being displayed on the kiosk.
- Click to edit a specific visitor type.
Adding a Visitor Type From Predefined Types
Pre-defined visitor types are visitor types with pre-configured display settings. iLobby created visitor types for the most common types of visitors to streamline the site configuration process.
To add a new Visitor type:
- Click to open the configuration menu.
- Click "Select Type" to open the drop-down menu, then click your preferred visitor type.
- Be sure to hit to save your changes.
Creating and Adding a New Visitor Type
If you don’t see the type you are looking for in the predefined list, you can create your own. Here's how:
To add a new custom Visitor type:

Click to open the configuration menu.
- Click " to launch the module to create a new custom visitor type.

You will be prompted to configure the visitor type by adding the following details:
- Title: The title assigned to the visitor type.
- Screen Label - The text that will appear on the kiosk when the visitor is prompted to select their visitor type. The text will be shown after the phrase "I am...". For example, "a contractor", "making a delivery", etc.
- Hide on Devices - toggle this option on if this visitor type should be hidden during visitor sign-in via the kiosk. This visitor type will still be available for assisted sign-in using the Portal, or through event invitations.
- Auto-Assign Host - toggle this option on if all visitors of this type should have the same host assigned to them.
- Badge Header Color - use this to select a custom header color for all visitors of this type.
Be sure to hit to save your changes.
Configuring Data Fields
The purpose of data fields is to getting visitors’ personal information. Data fields are displayed on the Tell us about yourself screen.
By default, visitors of any type are prompted for their Full Name and Company.
To add additional unique fields, find the Data Fields menu, then under Data Fields, click .
Here, you can select from a list of pre-set data types or add your own.
Select the drop-down menu under Add Data Field to see a list of pre-set fields. These are the most frequently-requested custom data fields from clients.
If you don't find what you're looking for, you can click to add your own custom data field. Here are the options you will need to fill out when creating a custom data field:
- Screen Label: This is the exact text that will be displayed on the kiosk.
- Mandatory: Toggle this option on if you wish for this field to be required for all visitors. Mandatory fields will be marked with a red asterisk.
- Control Type: This is where you select the type of response the visitor will provide. By default this will be a text box, but you can also select a drop-down list of custom options, or a country select, date select, or time select menu.
- Flow Type: This is where you set the data field to be captured during sign-in, sign-out, or another custom flow.
- Hide on Devices: Toggle this option on if you want the data field to be excluded from sign-ins via the kiosk. It will still be available for other types of sign-ins, such as event invitations.
- Remember Last Entry for Returning Visitors: If toggled on, the visitor's last selection will automatically be pre-filled on the kiosk screen.
- Limit to Specific Visitor Types: Toggle this option on if the data field only needs to be submitted by certain visitor types. Then, select those visitor types from the options menu.
