Setting up Guided Access 

Enabling Apple’s Guided Access feature allows you to restrict the use of the iPad to a single app of your choice. Improve the security of your device ensuring visitors are restricted to the iLobby app, unable to view, open, or access any other applications. Get started setting up Guided Access today!  

Preparing the iPad for Guided Access 

  1. On the home screen select the to access the settings menu
  2. Select   
  3. Select  
     
     

  4. Select the to enable Guided Access
  5. Select  
     
     

  6. Select  
  7. Create a six-digit passcode 
     
    Note: Make sure to record the passcode selected for future reference. The iLobby support team will not have access to your passcode for security reasons. We recommend keeping the passcode private, only sharing it with applicable personnel who will be administering the iPad. 
     


  8. Select to return to Guided Access main menu 
     


  9. Select the to enable Accessibility Shortcut 
    Note: Enabling this shortcut which allows you to triple-click the Home button and enter Guided Access at any time. 

     
     

Launching Guided Access on the iPad

Once your iPad has been prepared for Guided Access, you can now activate it as follows:

  1. When you’re ready to start a Guided Access session, on the home screen select the to open the iLobby application.
  2. Triple-click (fast click 3 times) the iPad Home buttonThis will trigger the Guided Access mode.
  3. A confirmation Guided Access Started will display on the screen
    Note: For iPad Pro devices, press the Power (side) button on the iPad three times to launch guided access. 

 

Exiting Guided Access on the iPad

  1. Triple-click the Home Button 
  2. Enter the passcode 
  3. Tap End 
  4. A confirmation Guided Access Ended will display on the screen
