How long will my ink cartridges last?
The longevity of your ink cartridge is dependent on the label template being used. Using the standard label template (pictured below), you can expect the following results:
- The black ink cartridge is estimated to print approximately 1700 labels.
- The color ink cartridge is estimated to print approximately 11,000 labels.
How many labels are in the Epson Printer 4x3 label roll?
Our label rolls come with 360 labels per roll. Rolls are offered in boxes of 6 rolls per box.
Note: The dimensions of these labels are 4" x 3" (101.6 mm x 76.2 mm). We've included a photo on the top of your printer to demonstrate the proper configuration of the Platen for this label size.

Can I use any type of label for the Epson Printer?
For the optimal compatibility and performance of your printer, we recommend using the Epson printer labels provided by iLobby. Replacement labels are readily available for purchase from our online store.

How do I install the paper?
To ensure smooth printing with your Epson printer, please follow these steps:
Note: Ensure you are using the correct paper rolls specifically designed for your printer, measuring 4" x 3" in size. Using the right paper is crucial for optimal performance.
- Begin by opening the paper compartment door. Push the grey lever upwards to access the compartment.
- At the top of the printer there is a picture illustrating the proper Platen configuration. Review the illustration. Ensure that the Platen is set to the 101.6 mm option and aligned properly.
- Locate the blue lever. Push the lever upward. Once raised move the lever to the left until you meet resistance.
- Place the paper roll inside the compartment. Ensure the labels are facing upward.
- Push the lever down to securely lock it in place.
- Verify the labels are properly positioned by pulling out a few of the labels until they are visible when you close the paper compartment door. Once the labels are visible, close the door tightly.
- Press the pause button on the printer. This action will align the paper, preparing it for printing.

Lastly, press the scissor button to cut off any extra labels, providing a clean and professional finish to your prints.
Can I use any ink cartridge with the Epson printer?
For the best printing experience, it’s important to use Epson ink cartridges specifically designed for your Epson printer. For black ink, we offer 2 finishes: gloss and matte.
Note: It’s essential to use the same type of black ink for your labels that was used initially to prime your printer. They cannot be used interchangeably. The ink type will be noted on the individual ink cartridges.
To get you started, iLobby includes 2 sets of ink cartridges in your initial order. Each set contains 2 black, 2 yellow, 2 magenta and 2 cyan cartridges. To begin start with the smaller ink cartridge set. This set is intended to prime your printer pads.
Note: It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete the priming. This process will require approximately 80% of the ink. As a result, the cartridges will require replacement after printing approximately 50 labels.
Items to note:
- When replacing the black ink cartridge, ensure the cartridge is replaced with the same type of black ink (matte or gloss). Switching the cartridge type will affect the printer’s ability to function. Ex. If the printer is primed using Black Matte ink, continue to use Black Matte. Do not switch to the Black Gloss.
- Install ink cartridges for all colors. Printer will not function if any cartridges are missing.
- The ink cartridges are designed to stop operation before running out of ink completely. This is to maintain the quality of the print head, so some ink will remain in the used ink cartridges.
- Do not open an ink cartridge package until you are ready to install the cartridge in the printer.
How do I replace the maintenance box?
Our goal is to ensure you have a seamless experience when replacing the maintenance box in your printer. To assist you, we have included detailed instructions on the left panel of the ink cartridge tray. Additionally, there is a helpful video tutorial accessible on your printer's screen.
To access the video:
- Use the directional arrow buttons to select Menu
- Select OK
- Scroll down using the downward facing arrow button until you reach Maintenance
- Select OK
- Using the arrow button scroll down again until you see the Replace Maintenance Box option.

How to print a badge from the kiosk iPad
Once your visitor completes the sign-in process on the kiosk iPad, their badge will automatically begin to print. This is a seamless and efficient process designed to ensure badges are ready to go with little to no wait time.

How do I find my IP address?
To connect your printer to your iLobby portal, you will first need to locate the IP address assigned to your printer. Follow the below steps to locate your printer's IP address:

I just changed my ink cartridge and now I am receiving an ink error, why?
For your printer to function correctly, it is imperative the correct type of black ink is used in your printer. The ink type will be displayed on the front of the cartridge, this can always be compared with the previous cartridge to ensure compatibility. Confirm all four cartridges are installed correctly and have sufficient ink. Printer performance will be affected if all four cartridges are not correctly installed with sufficient ink to initiate the printing process.
Does the printer offer Bluetooth?
The Epson printer does not support Bluetooth functionality. However, you can connect your printer using either Ethernet or Wi-Fi. For a preferred and stable connection, we recommend utilizing the Ethernet option which provides a direct and reliable link to your network.
What does the orange light mean?
If a solid orange light is present on your printer, this indicates that the printer is currently in a paused state. Typically, this occurs when a printing job is placed on hold or when there is a temporary interruption. Press the ‘pause’ button to continue with printing.
If a flashing orange light is present above the Status indicator, this indicates there is an issue that requires further attention. This can be related to the ink, paper, or the maintenance box. To quickly identify the source of the issue, an error message will appear at the top of the screen on your printer. Instructions will be provided on what needs to be addressed.
Does my badge fit into a lanyard?
The Epson printers 4" x 3" badge labels are not designed to fit into a lanyard. We recommend peeling off the badge and adhering it to a different surface that best suits your needs.
How do I connect my printer to the Wi-Fi network?
While using an Ethernet connection is preferred for its reliability, we understand that Wi-Fi may be more convenient for some users. If you prefer to connect your printer via Wi-Fi, below are the steps to do so:
- Use the directional arrow buttons to select Menu
- Select OK to confirm your selection.
- Use the navigational arrows to scroll down until you reach General Settings
- Select OK
- Navigate to Network Settings
- Select OK.
- Find Wi-Fi Setup
- Select OK
- Choose Router option
- Select OK
- Scroll down to find Network (SSID) if connecting for the first time. If switching from Ethernet connection to Wi-Fi select Change to Wi-Fi connection
- Select OK
- Select Yes on Confirmation screen
- Select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard
- Select OK
- Use navigational arrows to locate desired Wi-Fi connection
- Enter Wi-Fi login credentials
