iLobby iPad Factory Reset Guide

Step 1: Reset your iLobby device profile in the iLobby portal

1. In your browser, navigate to  https://portal.goilobby.com/  and login with your iLobby account. 

2. Press the settings gear icon at the top right and select Devices from the menu that appears.

3. In the devices section, press reset button beside the correct device. 

 

 

4. Press the Yes, reset it! button in order to complete the profile reset. Write down the six digit activation code that is generated.

  

Step 2: Erase all content and settings from iPad

On iPad: 

 

1.  Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Take note of the current Wi-Fi network that the device is connected to and make sure that you have credentials to reconnect to the same network later in this guide. If you do not know the credentials of the current Wi-Fi network, please contact your IT administrator before proceeding with this guide. If you are using a cellular connection for your iPad, please feel free to disregard this step.

 

2.  Go to Settings > General > Reset iPad.

3. Tap Erase All Content and Settings > Tap Erase when prompted.

4. When the iPad restarts with all content and settings erased, follow the prompts on the screen to complete setting up your device: 

  • Select your language. 
  • Select your region. 
  • On the Quick Start screen, tap Set Up Without Another Device at the bottom.

  • On the Choose a Wi-Fi Network screen, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the appropriate password to connect. 
 Cellular device users can skip connecting to Wi-Fi by tapping Use Cellular Connection: 

 

  • On the Remote Management screen, tap Enroll This iPad.

  • On the Location Services screen, tap Enable Location Services. 

 

 Location services are used to set the correct timezone on your device which is required for accurate visitor sign-in reporting. 
  • Once the configuration download completes, the iPad home page will open, and the iLobby app will begin downloading to your device automatically. 
  • Once the app is downloaded, please click the iLobby icon to open it.

  • Once the iLobby app opens, touch anywhere on the screen to begin and then tap Use a code. 

 

  • Enter the six digit code activation which you have written down in Step 1 of this guide. 

 

  • The iLobby app will now initialize and reconnect to your account automatically. 
  • Please tap OK to allow access to Camera when prompted. 

 

 

Step 3: Configure your iPad with iLobby recommended settings 

On iPad: 

 

1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard: 

  • Uncheck Shortcuts 
  • Uncheck Split Keyboard if the option is visible

 

2. Go to Settings > Display and Brightness: 

  • Set Brightness to approximately 70% on the slider. 
  • Tap Auto-Lock and set it to Never. 

 

3. Go to Settings > Accessibility: 

  • Tap Display & Text Size and uncheck Auto-Brightness. 

 

 

 

Step 4: Reconnect your Bluetooth printer (if applicable) 

If you were using a Brother QL-820NWB thermal printer with your iPad, follow the next steps to re-pair it to iPad: 

 

On iPad: 

 

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth 

 

2. Under devices, tap on your Brother printer under devices. 

 

3.  Please tap Pair to connect your printer when prompted. 

 Your printer will appear as "QL-820NWB####" under devices.
