Enable Microsoft Teams notifications in iLobby
Please note: This feature requires the Microsoft Teams add on to be enabled on your account. Please speak with your iLobby account representative before proceeding. The iLobby Teams bot will send you direct messages to your employees upon visitor sign-ins. It does not post or read any contents of channels.
With iLobby, you can use Microsoft Teams for visitor notifications. Learn how to set it up below.
Step 1: Download the iLobby Teams app metadata file here.
Step 2: Navigate to Microsoft Teams admin center and login as a global admin to upload the iLobby Teams app metadata file:
Once logged in:
- Press on Teams apps > Manage apps
- Click Actions > Upload New App:
- Press the Upload button and upload the iLobby Teams app metadata file downloaded in Step 1
- The app has now been uploaded.
Step 3: Navigate to Microsoft Teams (web only) and add the newly added bot to a channel (org-wide team preferred):
- Select Teams on the left sidebar and access the settings for the Teams channel the bot will be added to. From the menu that appears select the ‘Manage team’ option:
- After having selected ‘Manage team’, navigate to ‘Apps’ from the top bar and from here click the ‘iLobby Bot’ app:
- In the ‘iLobby Bot’ app settings, expand the dropdown menu next to the ‘Open’ button and from this list select the ‘Add to another team’ option:
- The option to configure the iLobby Bot app for the displayed channel is now available. Confirm that the displayed team and channel are correct and then select ‘Set up a bot’.
- The iLobby Teams bot will now deliver notifications via Microsoft Teams to your employees
If you are not receiving notifications from iLobby via the Teams Bot, please make sure that your organization's Teams app permission policies are configured to allow the iLobby Bot.
