Creating a Quiz in VisitorOS

Quizzes are lists of questions that visitors to a site are asked to respond to. This tool can be used to ensure that all visitors are complying with certain protocols for a site.

Currently, quiz creation is enabled for Account Administrators and Site Administrators, who can create quizzes for their own sites.

How to Create a Quiz in VisitorOS

Quizzes are managed in the Documents section of VisitorOS. To access the Quiz configuration page, login to VisitorOS (https://visitoros.goilobby.com/), then click Manage > Documents to access the Documents page.

Select New Document in the top-right corner, then select New Sectional Document to load the Quizzes module.

You will be prompted to input a few details about the quiz, such as:

  • Document Title - This is the name of the quiz in your Documents module.
  • Text - This is a description of what the quiz does.
  • Regular or Graded Quiz - a Regular Quiz simply collects visitor responses. A graded quiz calculates a score based on a correct response that you provide.

Adding Questions to a Quiz

Questions are the key feature of quizzes. use the button to add one or more questions to your quiz. You will be taken to the Add New Question module, where you can configure the following details:

  • Question title: This is the question that will be presented to visitors.
  • Answer type: Choose single select for a question that permits only one visitor response, or multi-select for a question that permits multiple responses such as a checklist.

Toggle Correct Answer Required to Proceed on if you require that the visitor correctly answer a question before proceeding to the next question. Note that if you turn this feature on, you will need to designate one answer as the correct response by clicking the blue icon next to it. This is shown in the example below:

Once you have finished configuring your question, click at the bottom of the page. Your quiz question will be added.

Repeat this process as many times as you need to set up all quiz questions.

Using Graded Quizzes

A graded quiz ensures visitors achieve a minimum score in order to proceed. This can be useful when there is a need to ensure compliance with certain training training materials.

The grade for the quiz will then be displayed in the visitor and pre-registration details, allowing hosts and receptionists to easily see the score the visitor received and take action if needed.

Graded quizzes are supported on the kiosk, web sign-in, and pre-registration.

To turn your quiz into a graded quiz, switch the Quiz Type to graded quiz as shown below.

Requirements for Graded Quizzes

  • For graded quizzes you will need to specify which answer(s) is correct before saving your questions.
  • If a quiz is changed from "Regular Quiz" to "Graded Quiz", the user must edit all questions to include correct answers before saving the document.

How Graded Quizzes are Scored

  • Visitors completing the quiz will be assigned a grade (number of correct answers divided by total questions)
  • For single-select questions, the correct answer must be provided to mark the question as correct
  • For multi-select questions, all correct answers must be provided to mark the question as correct. Partial correctness is scored as incorrect.

Configuration Options for Quizzes
