Introduction
The newly-redesigned VisitorOS Portal offers a refreshed design and more simple, easy-to-use navigation. It also brings the look, feel and functionality of VisitorOS more in line with FacilityOS and other modules like EmergencyOS. Finally, the re-designed VisitorOS Portal now offers tooltips and guidance throughout the module, which can help users understand how different features work.
The new VisitorOS Portal will be available beginning Monday, September 9th for all users.

Changes to Navigating VisitorOS
The following changes affect how users navigate through VisitorOS:
Features Under the Settings Menu
- The Configuration menu has been re-named Sites.
- Sites (formerly Configurations), Users and Roles features are now available under the Settings icon on the left-hand navigation menu. Previously, Configurations, Users and Roles were under the settings menu on the right-hand side of the navigation bar.
Features Under Manage Menu
- The Address Book feature is now available under the Manage menu on the left-hand navigation bar. Previously, the Address Book was in the header.
- The Documents, Watchlists, Devices and Global Messaging features are now available under the Manage menu on the left-hand navigation bar. Previously, these features were under the settings menu.
General Navigation
- The icon to switch between FacilityOS, VisitorOS, EmergencyOS and other iLobby Modules has been moved from the left-hand side to the right-hand side of the header.
- The buttons to view My Profile and the Logout button are now available in a drop-down menu under the user’s name on the right-hand side of the header. Previously, My Profile was available under settings and the Logout button was in the header.
- The button to access the iLobby Resource Center, where you can view announcements, visit the help center and contact support, has moved from the bottom-right corner to the navigation menu on the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Working with Visitors
- The VisitorOS Dashboard now has unique buttons to Invite a Visitor or Sign-In a Visitor in the top-right corner. Previously, these options were in a menu under the Register Visitor button.
- Under the Expected Today tab, there are now unique buttons to Sign-In an expected visitor, Edit Notes, or Download Legal Documents. Previously, these options were in a menu under the Actions button.
- Under the Signed-In Visitors tab, there are now unique buttons to Sign-Out the visitor, as well as Edit Notes. These options were previously only available under the Actions button
Changes to Custom Roles
Roles are customizable sets of permissions that give users the ability access certain features within the VisitorOS Portal and other modules.
The names of the different permissions under Add New Role and Edit Role have been adjusted for clarity. Each permission also now has a short description next to the name that specifies what it allows the user to do.
Additionally, certain role permissions have been removed from the custom roles configuration menu, as their functionality has been made obsolete with recent improvements to the FacilityOS platform and the iLobby ecosystem as a whole.
Accessing the iLobby Store
Access to the iLobby Store has moved to the FacilityOS Modules page here: FacilityOS | iLobby (goilobby.com)
Previously, the iLobby Store was accessible through the settings menu in Portal.
Clients can also visit the iLobby Store directly here: FacilityOS Store
Conclusion
We hope that the new VisitorOS Portal will offer our users a more streamlined and intuitive experience.
