Setting Up the Devices Page - Old Portal

About the Devices Page

Devices are the iPads or Windows tablets that visitors use when entering the site. You can use the Devices page of the portal to remotely monitor the connectivity status of the devices used at all your sites and to gather additional details on their network and system properties.

For environments with multiple sites and devices, click  Filters  to locate a device by site, by tag, or by status (online/offline).

The Devices page shows the following information about each device:

Status: Online / Offline. In order for the iLobby app to function properly, each device needs a strong internet connection (via WiFi or cellular). Connected devices show a status of Online (in green). Visitor entries made on the device are, when registration is complete, shown on the Dashboard and on the Visitor tab. If email/SMS notifications are delayed, and visitor entries are missing from the dashboard and visitor log, check the status of the tablet: it is most likely offline.

Last seen: the time and date when the device was last online.

Software: the Make / Model of the device and the version of the iLobby app installed on it.

Device Name: The device name is taken from the device settings (Settings -> General -> About -> Name).

- The Tag you created for the device (used to distinguish between devices used at the same site (for example, "Main Entrance" or "Reception")

Note that the device can continue to operate while in offline mode, allowing visitors to sign in. Sign-ins done while the device is offline are stored on the device, and, once it comes online again, are shown in the "missing visitor" records and the logs. If an internet connection is re-established within 15 minutes, the device will send notifications to hosts about visitor sign-ins done while offline.

Device Profile

A device's profile includes the following information:

- Device Name  is taken from the device settings (Settings -> General -> About -> Name).

- The Make and Model of the device, the version of the iLobby app installed on it, and whether push notifications are turned on for it.

- The Site (location) to which the device is assigned.

- The Tag associated with the device. Tags are also shown in the hosts’ notifications and under the Visitor tab in the guest’s record.

- Connection method shows the way the device is paired with the printer: this may be Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. If the connection method is Wi-Fi, enter the Printer IP - address(es) to connect the device and printer.
