Who:
This guide is intended for Account Administrators that are new to EmergencyOS.
Your 5 Essential Steps to Success
Step 1: Site Configuration
The first step in your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS is to fill out a configuration form for your site. This configuration form will be in a welcome email sent by a member of our Onboarding team.
The configuration form will prompt you to fill out details for a test emergency profile that we will create for you, users that you wish to add to the EmergencyOS portal, the mustering points that will need to be added to your site, and more.
Once the configuration form has been submitted, a member of our Onboarding team will configure your portal accordingly and you will move on to step two of your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS.
Step 2: Training
The second step in your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS is training. Once your site has been configured, you will receive a second email with training resources.
The first resource you will receive is a link to our weekly EmergencyOS training webinars. We host the following sessions:
Wednesdays, 11am EST - for Safety Officers
Thursdays, 3pm EST - for Admins
We recommend you join a session for Admins, in which a member of our Onboarding team will walk you through the entire EmergencyOS portal, demonstrate how to create your own emergency profiles, show you how to start and manage an evacuation, etc.
Please feel free to invite all Safety Officers that will be in charge of an evacuation or a mustering point to one of our Wednesday sessions. These sessions will teach your Safety Officers how to start and manage an emergency event.
The other resources you will receive are links to our HelpCentre articles and videos. Each of these articles will walk you through an important segment within EmergencyOS. These articles can be used as additional training alongside the live webinar sessions.
Step 3: Emergency Profile Configuration
The third step in your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS is to take our Pop-Up tour in your portal and create your own emergency profiles for your site. Once you have completed your training and have navigated over to your EmergencyOS portal, you should see a Pop-Up-Tour appear on your screen.
The tour will walk you through how to create your own emergency profile. This will be beneficial in allowing you to be hands on in the portal, and managing your emergency profiles to be used when an evacuation is triggered. Once you have taken the tour, we encourage you to create your own emergency profile(s) that would be applicable to your site.
Step 4: Run a Test Drill
The fourth step in your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS is to run a test drill at your site. We recommend using a test drill emergency profile that has been pre-configured, and to trial this drill with a small group of stakeholders at your site.
Running a test drill will allow you to get comfortable with the EmergencyOS software and make any necessary changes before conducting another test drill or potential emergency event in the future.
Step 5: Run a Real Drill
The fifth and final step in your Onboarding journey through EmergencyOS is to schedule and run an actual drill event at your site. This would involve a large group of employees and visitors and would be conducted as if there was an actual emergency taking place at your site.
This final step will ensure that your team is confident in managing a potential emergency using the EmergencyOS software.
