April 2025 Release - VisitorOS & EmergencyOS

New VisitorOS Features

New Add-On Catalogue in VisitorOS

Product Tier: Available on all VisitorOS plans
We’ve introduced a new Add-Ons tab in the Site Settings page, giving users visibility into paid features including Visitor Approval, ID Scanning, Watchlists, and Pre-registration.

  • Users without access to a feature will see it listed along with a description, demo video, and the option to submit interest. If a feature is already enabled for a site, it will not appear in the Add-Ons list.
  • Once an add-on is unlocked by FacilityOS Technical Support, it can be enabled and configured by users with the appropriate permissions.

SMS Sign-Out Reminders in VisitorOS

Product Tier: Available on VisitorOS Enhanced and Enterprise plans

VisitorOS can now send automated SMS reminders, in addition to email, to help hosts and visitors complete sign-out, improving accuracy and safety.

  • These reminders can be configured to be sent to hosts, visitors, or both.
  • Each message includes a one-click sign-out link, helping maintain accurate visitor logs and mustering lists.

Watchlist Hit Notifications Now Indicate Screening Stage

Product Tier: Available as an add-on for Corporate and Enhanced VisitorOS plans, included in Enterprise VisitorOS plan
Watchlist notifications now indicate whether a match occurred during pre-registration or sign-in, helping teams respond appropriately. The updated notification applies to both email and SMS alerts, improving clarity and operational response time.

Improved ID Scanning Configuration Options

Product Tier: Available as an add-on for Corporate and Enhanced VisitorOS plans, included in Enterprise VisitorOS plan

We’ve redesigned the ID scanning configuration panel to give admins field-level control over what data is captured, editable, or excluded. Previously, settings were interdependent, limiting flexibility and forcing unnecessary data collection. These updates simplify setup and reduce configuration errors.

Automated Visitor Wi-Fi with Cisco Meraki Integration

Product Tier: Available as an add-on for all VisitorOS plans
Visitors who pre-register can now receive unique, time-limited Wi-Fi credentials automatically through Cisco Meraki, enhancing security and eliminating the need for manual credential distribution.

  • Once a visitor completes their pre-registration, Cisco Meraki sends a secure login URL and password via email.
  • Visitors can connect to the network using the credentials provided by Cisco Meraki.
  • Credentials automatically expire at the end of the visit, after which the user is deleted from Cisco Meraki.

Enhanced Sign-Out Data in Visitor Log

Product Tier: Available on all VisitorOS plans

New fields in the visitor log show which device a visitor used at sign-in and how they signed out, giving admins better visibility into visitor activity and device usage across sites. The Visitor Log now includes two new data fields:

  • “Signed-Out Via” shows how the visitor was signed out (Kiosk, Portal, Auto sign-out, Email, SMS, Mobile App, SecurityOS)
  • “Sign-In Device” displays the name of the device used during check-in on kiosks or virtual kiosks

The new fields are also available via the VisitorOS API and visitor log CSV exports for easier reporting and analysis.

New EmergencyOS Feature

Drill Scheduling: Reminders and Alerts in EmergencyOS

Product Tier: Available on all EmergencyOS plans

EmergencyOS now includes configurable drill reminders and alerts to help organizations stay compliant with emergency preparedness requirements.

  • Administrators can set the drill frequency, the date of a site’s last drill (even if completed outside the platform), and enable automated email reminders.
  • Reminders are sent 30 days before the target drill frequency date, followed by ongoing alerts for overdue drills and quarterly engagement nudges.
  • Drill frequency and notification recipients can be customized per site, with the Safety Officer set as the default recipient.
  • This new feature improves visibility, reduces manual tracking, and ensures better preparedness across sites.

Clearer Status Labeling for Emergency Evacuations

Product Tier: Available on all EmergencyOS plans

The “Out of Office” status label has been updated to “Absent – Off Site.” The update applies consistently across all EmergencyOS interfaces – including web, mobile, reports, filters, dialogs, and SMS alerts.
